Feb. 26th, 2008 10:27 amOne of my boyfriend's big guilty pleasures is "Star Trek." He was talking about it last night and I had a bad name flashback.
One of my exes was in the Navy. I remember him mentioning a few times that one of his fellow privates was named Starship Constellation. His parents were apparently huge "Star Trek" geeks. At the very least, I think his last name was something standard like Jones, and since everyone generally referred to one another by their last name, I guess that was what kept him from going on a killing spree. From what I remember, though, his superiors made fun of his name constantly, calling him Private Jefferson Starship, Private Dipper, Private Spock, etc.
I guess maybe it could have been worse, his last name could have been Dancer.

Date: 2008-02-26 05:28 pm (UTC)My brother used to watch Star Trek from time to time and I'd watch it with him sometimes. I really liked B'Lana for a girl back then.

Date: 2008-02-26 07:13 pm (UTC)If I had to pick an "out there" Star Trek name I suppose I could use Jadzia. Or Nerys, but that's a real name and I'm not sure it's pronounced the same as in Star Trek...
