My six year old cousin came up with this name... what do you think?

Shaylin

that's harsher phrasing than i would have used, but my sentiment is the same.

negative.

a little hard to say and the spelling is akward

That name is pretty popular these days. It has all sorts of variants of course: Shaylan, Shaelyn, Shaylen, etc. And of course, all it's cousins, like Jaylen, Kaylan, Braelyn, etc etc etc

WAY too trendy and trashy for my taste.

wow. some of the comments on it are a bit much, i think. Shaylin is not that bad of a name, a bit trendy yes... but not trailor trash. trailor trash to me, is something more like BUNNIE, BONNIE, TRIXIE, etc.

People are idiots. How can a name sound like trailer trash? That's just silly. I think Shaylin is a beautiful name, although I think I prefer the spelling to be Shaylen. I've never heard that name before so I don't think it's *that* trendy. I think it would be good for a boy or a girl, and it's conducive to the nickname Shay (Shae) if she or he would like.
