WDYT
it's #116 for 2006. Near Lydia, Amber, Valerie, Brianna, Jade, Gabriella, Kennedy, Charlotte, Catherine and Bailey.
Is it trendy for now? Or does it sound too 90's?
edit: tho I'm anti-formal names that are mainly un-used, as some of you know, I would prolly use Ellie, Dani, Dan, Danielle interchangeably, so Danielle wouldn't be a "formal" name.

Date: 2008-02-25 04:17 pm (UTC)There's nothing wrong with the name itself though, and it does come with a lot of cute nicknames.

Date: 2008-02-25 04:29 pm (UTC)It doesn't sound too 80s/90s to you - like the others are saying?

Date: 2008-02-25 04:38 pm (UTC)actually it doesn't have that 80's -90's vibe the others say; it might depend on the fact I've never lived in the US, although my mom is american, so I don't have direct experience of that period, but whereas I do associate some other names to the 80's-90's trend (Jennifer, Tiffany, Amber, Jessica), Danielle isn't one of them :)
I'm not sure where I get the connections from, maybe tv shows, movies, music from that time, but if they're strong for some names, I guess they're not as strong for others (like Danielle), and maybe that could be an index too :)

Date: 2008-02-25 04:46 pm (UTC)And I actually would say the same for even the more 'typical 80's' names, as I don't think that's particularly relevant, since we're talking about different decades anyway.
For example, the 80's names in Italy were Francesca (I risked being one myself), Chiara, Valentina, Sara. But people still give those names to baby girls and the connection doesn't seem to bother anyone, although anyone would acknowledge they were very typical for that generation.
