I was watching BBC World about an hour ago and on came a man whose children were called Madison and Cole.
I though that was alright at first but then he said his son was called Madison and his daughter was Cole.

I love the name Madison and it's alright on a boy but I like it better on girls.
I think Cole on a girl is horrid!

I had the same first thought as jabre, that Cole might be a nick name for Nicole.

I don't like the same Madison but I do think it's better on a boy.

I find Madison more appropriate for boys than girls, given that it means "son of Matthew".

Cole is too close to 'cold' and I also dislike Col- names, like Colton, for example, they remind of 'colon'.

I think they're both terrible and trendy.. and I knew it wouldn't be long before people started thinking Cole was cute on a girl.

Sure, socially Madison is probably worse on a girl nowadays, but considering it means 'son of' and was originally a male name the trend of girls with this name is even more ridiculous.

I know a sib set named Madison and Cole..but Madison is the girl and Cole is the boy.

I also know a sib set named Mackenzie and Davis. Mac being the boy and Davis being the girl.

Blech. Cole as a nickname for Nicole is okay on a girl, I guess. But I wouldn't use Madison on a boy, nor would I use just Cole on a girl.

Madison is a girl name, to me. Regardless of it's meaning.
