What do you think of the combo Whitman Keillor?  Too last name-y?  It kinda just popped in my head and I like it.  Don't worry for those who hate it, I probably won't name my son it as I have other favorites and my name tastes are bound to change when I do have a son.

Oh.I thoght it was lik Kaylor and didn't mind it.
I agree about Whitman sounding pretentious and it makes me want to tease into Whipman. But that's cause I'm naughty and inappropriate :P

I like. I prefer just plain Whit to Whitman, but it looks a little incomplete that way, so Whitman is fine. I think it sounds sophisticated.

I like Whitman a lot. I love last names as first names for boys, and the poet just adds to it (I just went over it in my head--isn't Frost nice too?) I don't like Keillor as it reminds me "killer" in sound and k-r names are too harsh in my mind. Whitmas is really nice though, and I like it a lot.

he might feel a dichotomy between a rambunctious radical poet and a calm-voiced loveable poet and become schizo :D

Ooooh, I love it. I love Whitman as a first name and "Whit" for a nickname, and Keillor I adore because I am addicted to Prairie Home Companion, so I think it is awesome!! Both literary names, both classy. I think however, it would totally hinge on the last name and Whitman Lastname sounding good together.

I like Whitman, especially the nn Whit, but I think Whitman Keillor sounds like a stuffy old man name.

I like it. Keillor to me is pronounced 'KEEL-or' but it still sounds nothing like Killer. o_O;;

And I love Whitman. :)
