Feb. 22nd, 2008 12:02 am* My ideal family would be two girls and two boys, and since I'm only eighteen and just dreaming about it, we'll assume that's what I'm really going to have :]
Definitely plan to use:
Lorelai Mary Jane, nn. Lola/Lora
(Lorelai just because I love it. Mary Jane as the middle name because it's my two grandmother's names together, and despite the obvious drug connotation, I think it's a really pretty name, but wouldn't use it as a first name because of that.)
William David, nn. Will
(William just because I love it. David because both my grandfathers are named David, and it's my father's middle name, so it's all the men in my family. :])
Other boy names I like, in order of how well I like them:
James, nn. Jim/Jimmy (just love it)
Adam, no nn. (just love it)
Jack, no nn. (just love it)
Robert, nn. Rob/Robby (just love it)
Other girl names I like, in order of how well I like them:
Evelyn, nn. Eve/Evie (just love it)
Elizabeth, nn. Lizzy/Libby (just love it)
Olivia, nn. Libby (just love it)
Annaliese, nn. Anna (Ann is my mom's middle name, but I don't like it alone)
(NOTE: I would not use Adam and Eve together in a sibset. One or the other or neither, but not both.)
Possible middle names with sentimental attachment:
Julia (because my mom's name is Julie)
Rose (because it's my sister's middle name, and makes a better middle name than her first name does, so it's not just filler!)
Constance (because it's my lifelong best friend's name)
Combinations I would use:
Evelyn Julia
Evelyn Rose
Evelyn Constance
Olivia Julia (definitely does not flow)
Olivia Rose
Olivia Constance
Elizabeth Julia
Elizabeth Rose
Elizabeth Constance
Annaliese Julia
Annaliese Rose
Annaliese Constance
(NOTE: Obviously I'm really sentimental about names, and plan to consider my future husband's family's names too, but I can't know what they are yet... But the second boy's middle name should definitely come from him, his father, his grandfathers, or his brothers. If any of my girl names happen to be in his family, they will get extra pull, otherwise I will consider them, whatever they are.)
Anyway! Thoughts? Feelings? Opinions?
