Interesting names from my classes:

Maryum, Harmony-Ann, Geraldine, Lilee, Ruta.

I don't think Lilee is her real name. I think her real name is really hard to pronounce so that's like her pseudonym which made me think about the Starbucks post the other day. Like, why wouldn't she just be Lily. Because people won't know her real name and won't know how to spell her "nickname".

Also, I want to know what Ruta's origin is.

A lot of Turkish girls seem to be called Maryam, and I think that's really pretty. I'm not really a fan of Maryum though.

According to babynamesworld.com, Ruta is a Hebrew name, which still doesn't say anything about the girl's origin...if that's what you meant.

When I saw 'Lilee' I didn't even think of Lily! I pronounce it like Lye-lee in my head. Probably because of Lila, or something.

The Hebrew part makes sense. I was thinking that it was Spanish/Latin and she doesn't look lik either of those so...Thank you!

The Hebrew version of Ruth is Rut (pronounced like root), and I've never heard Ruta before.

Ruta makes me think of Ruth. Could it be a "latinized" version?

Lilee is crooked, I hope it's not her name.
But I'm not sure I understand why she would rather go by something with a creative spelling instead of Lily, which is at least known of.

I knew a Geraldine once. I like it.

I like Lilee but I'm weird and like it because I think of "Lee Lee" but don't like the look of it. Kind of like "Lou Lou"
