So, me and my boyfriend LOVE the name Sirius for a boy. Not because of Harry Potter, but because.. it's just an awesome name.

Pretending Harry Potter never existed, what do you think? If in the future we have a son, we're naming him Sirius Arthur. Although it's unfortunate that my boyfriend's last name begins with a T, it's not as bad as it could be. Arthur is after my grandfather that passed away.

And in the case of a girl, it's definitely Remi Christine, or Remi Grace. Remi was his sister's name, and we've agreed on Christine but I'm sorta stuck on Grace for a middle name, too. I just don't know which sounds better together, but I'm open to using Christine or Grace as a sibling's middle name as well..   

Also, what are good twin names to pair up with the following.

Sirius Arthur (m)

Remi Christine/Grace (f)

I love the Harry series, but I don't like the character Sirius, and I don't like the name because of that.

Harry aside though, I don't like the pronunciation/correlation of "serious" - for I wish none of my children to be serious people. I don't know, I just don't like the word.

I think Christine sounds better and I like it :)

Are you pronouncing Sirius as Sir-ee-ous? It reminds me too much of 'serious' and 'cereal', but maybe I'm not saying it right.

I was a bit baffled at Remi paired with Christine/Grace, since Remy is pretty much established as a boy's name!

Yeah, that's how it's pronounced. It's derived from Osirus. Lol.

And yes, Remy is generally a name for a boy. But his sister's name was Remi, and I actually really like it.

As some others have pointed out, I don't like that Sirius sounds so much like 'serious'. In Dutch we'd pronounce it See-ree-us though, and I do like that =).
Remi/Remy is a boy's name to me.

Your girls names are unusual and interesting. I'm not sure if you're aware or if you care, but Remi is traditionally a nickname for Yirmiyahu or Jeremiah.

Personally, Sirius Arthur is way too Harry Potter for me. I'm okay with Sirius, but I wonder if you might consider a middle name different than one of the story's main characters. (Arthur Weasley). It's a little too much, I think. That book is going to be pop culture forever.

Sirius Arthur - fantastic, absolutely love it.

Remi - It's a French boys name.. so I can't get on with it as a girls name whaoever. I think I prefer Remi Christine though. Remi Grace feels too short and Grace to getting so tiresome as a middle name.

Yeah, I know Remi is a French boys name, but I am mostly French, and it was my boyfriend's little sister's name- she passed away. Their Mom really liked.. odd names. Lol. I do sort-of favor Christine over Grace, but Christine is also two syllables, as is Remi. So that's sort of.. eh.

And oooh. I love Xavier for a boy, and Sebastian!

And for girls I adore Isla and Amélie. :D Those are definitely both on my list.

Remi is too boyish for me for a girl.. and Remi Grace I feel sounds the best, if you have to use Remi.

Yeah, it's not for Arthur Weasley, though. My grandfather's name was Arthur, and that's how I want to honor him. I also just think it sounds REALLY good together, honestly. :D

I've warmed considerably over the name Remi, actually. I didn't particularly like it at first, but his little sister was adorable and I'd love to honor her with naming our daughter Remi.

Sirius is a great name! I like Arthur as a mn too.

Sirius is a star name, of course, and many stars have beautiful names. Even if you're a HP fan, like I am, you can have other reasons to like the names used in the books. For example, I ADORE the name Bellatrix, another star name from the fictional Black family. (I also happen to like the character, though obviously many people DON'T!) But, I don't just like the name because of the character, I love it on its own, even pretending Harry Potter never existed. ^^ So, go you! I like your choices.

Maybe it's just me, but.. wow. The attitude I got from that.

In any event- I've explained this a couple of times. Remi was his younger sister's name, and she passed away. It's our way of honoring her. She wasn't very old when she died, either, which makes it all the more tragic in my eyes.

Arthur was my grandfather's name, and there's no getting around using it. I never even though of the fact that Arthur was the Weasley father's name until someone pointed it out.
