I met someone named "Shane" but it was pronounced "Shawn" or "Sean"...however you prefer. He's my ex's brother, and his mom is a little....out there.

Im naming my son shane..but it will be pronounced normally and I love the name I do know however shane is the irish version of sean

No, Shane is an Anglicized version of Sean, which is the Irish Gaelic form of John.

that's too confusing for me lol. i guess because i know a few Shane/Shaynes, and Sean/Shawns, so i think of them as two different names.

James Colbert. He goes by Cole. So I'm pretty turned off to the name Cole now because of him. But since he never went by James, at least that didn't ruin the absolute LOVE I have for the name James. :) Thank God. haha

Shane also has an identical twin brother, but I cannot remember his name at all...it's killing me a little.
