Ok, I now know how stupid this makes me sound, but I've never realised the Christian association with that name before now. I think it might be that I knew a girl named Evangeline James (James was the surname) when I was tiny, and for ages I thought of it as all on name - "you know little Evangeline James?" Type thing. Plus, I knew her before I knew what evangelical meant, and I've never concidered it since. I've no idea if that's changed my perception of the name or not.
