[identity profile] biancasablancas.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
there was a lady here that was about to have twins and had Anders Joseph picked out for one of them... I haven't seen her post in a while, maybe the babies have come? If I've missed a recent post of she's changed her icon and I haven't been observant enough, I'm sorry. Just being curious :)

I am in love with Zoe and Evangeline this week. Do you think Zoe Evangeline is a cute match?

Also, my sister and I have pretty similar taste in names, but she really dislikes Evelyn, and sees it as old-ladylike. What do you think? I personally like that you could call her Eve or Evie, which don't sound old-lady to me.

I don't think of Evelyn as an old name. I think it's cute... I picture someone mid-twenties with maybe a Rhianna-esque bob. AGNES is an old person name.

Evelyn is my middle name. I didn't like it as a child because I was teased about sounding like an old lady name but I like it now.

No idea, but I do remember her.

Sounds lovely, but I don't care for Zoe myself.

Evelyn, Evangeline/a, Eva are gorgeous. I hate Eve but I LOVE Evie.

I prefer Elisabeth to Elizabeth myself :-p

I also like Evelia, (basically rhymes with Amelia)
It's spanish, if I remember correctly.

You mean the one who would post every day/every second day?
I'm sure she's still kicking around somewhere. If you want her username, she wouldn't be hard to find if you go back a page or two.

I like the name Evangeline, and my mom had Zoée picked out as a name for me. My little sister had a friend with that name though, and she was cray-zee. :/

I did a little digging in the archive, and I believe you mean [livejournal.com profile] pale_september. I haven't seen her around lately either. I can imagine that if she did have her babies though, she'd have different things on her mind than going to this community ;).

I like Zoe Evangeline, although the two 'e's sort of run together (zoeevangeline), which is annoying when you say it aloud. In my opinion, that is.

I agree with the two E's thing. My name is Melissa Elena, which sounds nice, but then with my last name, which starts with an "A", it's hard to say, whether you say my full name of just Melissa A______, it takes an extra breath to do the two A's back-to-back.

My only concern with Zoe Evangeline is that the names easily run together when spoken. Otherwise, I think it's a cute match.

Evelyn is one of my favorites, as well. I like the nn Eve and Evie.

i am named eva and i love being named eva. my friend is named zoe and she likes it. i sometimes refer to myself as evangeline. i love zoe evangeline! i think the e's running together would be something people could deal with.

According to her profile, she's not expecting until May.

I love Zoe and Evangeline, and I like how they sound together, except, as someone above mentioned, that recurrent long e they share.

I can see Evelyn sounding like an old lady name, but I think it would work well on a child, too. It's a great name.

i adore zoe, its a recent favorite of mine. i am not wild about zoe evangeline, but thats because i am not crazy about evangeline as a name. i met a little girl recently named zoe annabelle. adorable. personally i would pair it with something more traditional, kathleen or elisabeth or something. but thats just me.

I love Evelyn, I would use it on my own baby.

Evangeline isn't really my taste, but I don't think it's bad, and I think Zoe Evangeline is pretty cute.

I like Zoe Evangeline, though I'm not crazy about them separate.

Evelyn doesn't sound old-ladylike to me. I think it depends on if you know an old lady with that name. The first time I heard it was on a young girl, so now I associate it with younger people.
Plus, it's better to have an older sounding name on a young girl than a younger sounding name on an older woman, in my opinion. I mean, you're older longer than you're younger.
