Okay...

Isla

"eye-luh" or "ee-luh"  ??

I think both sound pretty, but I always say "ee-luh" because I'm pretty sure it's how you pronounce the Spanish word for "island."

I prefer EYE-lah.

If you want the Spanish pronunciation, it's going to be EES-lah; all the letters are pronounced in Spanish.

It would be ees-luh in Spanish.

But I say the NAME eye-luh.

I say it 'Eye-luh,' like Island without the -nd. I don't like it either way, but I like it even less as ee-luh.

I think eye-luh is very pretty, but don't like ee-luh at all.

I like it either way (EES-lah/EYE-lah), but if I were just going by how I'd pronounce it, it'd be EYE-lah. :)

It reminds me of Isla Fischer, who is hella gorgeous.

Just looking at the word, I think EES-la, but I took Spanish for four years. As a name, I'd definitely prefer it pronounced EYE-luh, and I think it looks beautiful, either way.

My great aunt is named "Ila", pronounced "eye-la". I always loved that name. Her sister's name is Eola "ee-oh-la", and I always loved that too. Their husbands are Ellis and Murl. That was only sort of related to this post, haha.
