Feb. 12th, 2008 12:30 pmi'm having a hard time choosing between matthew and cameron.
when we were expecting our daughter, we had matthew picked out as the name had we had a boy so this time around it's also at the top of of list. lately though the name cameron keeps coming to me. i had a dream the other night that i had a son and his name was cameron. before that i hadn't really considered the name since we were so sold on matthew but now i'm leaning towards cameron. i adore the nickname cam.
so which sounds better..
matthew john richard
or
cameron john richard
TIA!

Date: 2008-02-12 04:39 pm (UTC)or why don't you wait and see whether he looks more like a cameron than a matthew?

Date: 2008-02-12 08:22 pm (UTC)Working on a pediatrics ward at a hospital, I have seen the name Cameron really rising in popularity with newborns and young children (which you may or may not care about), and I've seen it on both boys and girls. That's not to say that Cameron isn't a good name, because it is (I actually like it a lot), but it is one of those that I assume will only further rise in popularity.
Granted, Matthew isn't unpopular either, but it's classic and ageless, whereas Cameron might be just a name of the times.

Date: 2008-02-13 12:54 am (UTC)Oddly enough, it's not a name I hear often and it's actually a very nice one. The complete name also flows much better. Besides, I have FOUR Matthews in my class and there are several more throughout our tiny student body.
