May Isabel. Thoughts? I like Isabel a lot, but wouldn't use it as a first name, due to popularity. It's also one of the only names I can think of that sounds good paired with May.

Jane. Too plain? If I ever had a daughter and named her this, it would be after Jane Austen and one of my favourite Jane Austen characters. I'm thinking about just using it as a middle name, though. It works well with pretty much all of my favourite names, too. I'm thinking especially:

Camilla Jane
Norah Jane
Theodora Jane

Edit: Also, I've really been loving the name Constanza lately. I probably wouldn't use it, but I love it.

May and Isabel are both nice names but I don't think they flow very well together.

I love the sound of Norah Jane!

May Isabel is pretty!

I think I like Norah Jane best, but I like Theodora Jane, too (hate the nn Teddy, though)

I think May would flow with any of the bella names -

May Isabella
May Arabella
May Annabella
etc...

May Isabel... It's not quite my taste, but I think it's pretty. However, I feel the name May is too short, and a little too quick of a first name to go with Isabel.

As for Jane, I do feel it's a little plain. Very similar, but having a different effect, is June. I just bought a Jane Austen address book yesterday, with quotes from her at the beginning of each alphabetical letter. Love it.

What do you think of Maybelle/Maybel? Although...I think I just made those up. haha

Reminds me of Maybeth Tillerman in the Cynthia Voight children's series...

I really really really love Camilla Jane. Norah Jame is nice, too, but Camilla is just gorgeous.

I like May and Isabel, but I agree with some of the posters that it doesn't sound great together.

I love May and Isabel, and May Isabel is beautiful. Depending on the last name, I think it could go either way as far as the flow goes.

I love Jane and would definitely consider it for a first name. Then again, Camilla Jane and Norah Jane are gorgeous (I'm not much for the name Theodora, but Theodora Jane does sound good).

I love Norah Jane and Theodora Jane.

I hate Camilla.

Also, I don't like May Isobel.

And all I think of is George from Seinfeld.

I LOVE Jane, but not quite as much as June. But I have a great-aunt named June, so I'm biased.

I love Jane as a first name. I don't think it's too plain at all because it's not very popular. My former roommate who's one of my best friends is named Jane, so I have positive associations with the name.

I like Nora but spelled this way.

Constanza just makes me think of George Costanza from Seinfeld.

If you went with Theodora, would you use any nn, like Dora or something?

i'm not a huge fan of may isabel, but it's not bad. you're right, may is just one of those names that it's hard to find a middle name for.

LOVE theodora jane and camilla jane. :)
