so i came across this article on international baby names and thought the 'ethnic' angle may interest some of you, too. i'm swiss+german and like some of these. for those who don't know: switzerland has 4 parts, divided by language -- german, french, romansch, and italian -- so for the first batch, the most popular names are listed that way.

luca is amazing. my friend is a month behind me through her pregnancy and shes having a boy as well, and shes been wanting to name him Luca, but her mom hates it. god i hope she uses it anyways.

For boys I like Luca, but I'd be more tempted to spell it Luka, for some reason. And I adore the name Nikolai, not so much Nicholas/Niclas/Niklas, etcs.
