[identity profile] emtotherescuee.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Hellooooo everyone:]

As a huge name-obsesser  I've come to seek some of your opinions of names for two of my stories. When I write, the names always have to be very well thought out, so if it sounds like I'm nitpicking, just hang tight:]

-I'm begining a short story of a teenage girl who tries to commit suicide, but then she's stopped by this random bypasser, and he happens to have a cute son, and--...you guys don't care:]. Her name is Eleanor, which means "pity", so you can see why I chose it. She calls herself "Ellie" and is referred to as Ellie all through the story, except for maybe one sentence, where she tells the random bypasser her whole name. And of course, this means that Ellie needs a middle name!
Some choices I have are:
Eleanor Nicole
Eleanor Anne
Eleanor Annie
Eleanor Nell

...But none of them feel like "the one". I want the middle name to start with an "A" or an "N", more preferably the "N". If it starts with an "N", though, I want the name to be really soft and whatnot. Nicole is a nice name, but it sounds too harsh. Any suggestions?

-In another short story, I need the name of a lively, stubborn little girl. She'd be four to eight, I haven't decided exactly how old. I want a very forest-friendly name, as that's where she's found by this other kid (well, technically, she finds him but whatever). His name is Tanner, in case you all are wondering:]. I like the names that start with "Elv", because it reminds me of elves, which I seem to think are commonly found in forests? No Elvira, though, as it reminds me of that song by the Oak Bridge Boys, hah. Fairy names are cute, like Faye.
So if you could be so kind as to slip me a possible names, it would really help:]. It'd be awesome if the meaning went along with the woodland theme.

Anyway, thanks everyone! This is clearly a great community!

Eleanor Faith is what first comes to mind. it's contradictive in a way but i think it sounds rather fiction-esque.

emmy for the second girl, short for emily. emmy and tanner.

Elvira is the name of my brother's horse, I just can't see that working on a human anymore.
names for second story: Silvana (which means woodland), Xylia (means wood-dweller), Thistle, Willow, Petunia, Lilly, Violet, Lila, Rosemary, Rose, Marigold, Leilani

It doesn't conform to your standards, but what popped immediately to mind was "Eleanor Grace". Grace is so common, but it flows nicely.

For the second one: I love Faye!
