I met a girl 10 years ago who had a boyfriend named Wynter. I completely loved it. Unfortunately, I don't know if I would use it now because it seems to fit with the trendy names? Or maybe fit in a lil but not too much? WDYT?
Also, I'm totally hooked on Prue for a girl. Not Prudence shortened, but PRUE. That is my one stipulation for names: nothing shorten-potential like Josh-Joshua etc.
WDYT of Wynter and Prue. Also for a boy: Troy

Date: 2008-02-07 02:17 pm (UTC)Prue is alright - it makes me think 'prove'. Same with Troy, though I'm not usually a fan of place names.

Date: 2008-02-07 03:20 pm (UTC)Prue is also adorable, but I personally wouldn't use it because I'm a Charmed addict and the connection would be too obvious to those who know me (and know that Prue was my least favorite of the sisters).
Troy is ok. Not horrible, but not great.

Date: 2008-02-07 04:48 pm (UTC)prue doesn't look like a name to me, even a shortened one. it also sounds like peru, but i may be pronouncing it wrong?
i'm not a huge fan of troy but i like it more than prue.

Troy is OK, I knew a Troy Mayo.

Date: 2008-02-07 05:29 pm (UTC)i also like pru/prue, but not prudence. i LOVE the song "dear prudence", but cannot..for the life of me..make myself like the name prudence. haha. so i always thought pru/prue was a good alternative.
i'm not a big fan of troy. it seems like it should be a nickname, but the only full word i can think of that can be shortened to troy is destroy.

Date: 2008-02-07 10:19 pm (UTC)i like prue a lot, but as a nickname for prudence or prunella. it's too much of a nickname. i would consider naming a daughter prudence just because dear prudence is the sweetest song ever. :)

Date: 2008-02-08 04:16 pm (UTC)Wynter... yeah, sounds like a stereotypical goth nickname, but I like it with an 'i', on boys or girls! Wintermute is also an option (that I'm quite fond of), although it's much more common as a surname.
