What are some good middle names for Lily?

WDYT of Lily anyway? It's (yet another) name I'm considering for our future daughter.

I like Lily, but it's...kind of overused? I do like it, but eh.

I like Elizabeth/Elisabeth with Lily as a nickname better.

I love the name Lily. It seems muscial and delicate at the same time it feels a little bouncy and fun. :)

My cat's name is Lillian Rose...

So, all I think when anyone says Lily is my grandmother calling, "Lilly Rose!"

It's a common name, but a very pretty one =)
How about...

Lily Noelle
Lily Justine
Lily Renee
Lily Esme(e)
Lily Diane/a

Lily Renee sounds really nice. I like that one.

How do you pronounce Esme(e)? I never saw/heard of it until this group. Is it like ES-may or es-MAY? ..or Es-mee, even? haha I have no idea.

It's EZ-may or EZ-mee.

Yeah I quite liked Lily Renee myself too =)

Esme(e) is pronounced Es-MAY. Where I'm from, at least. I'm not quite sure about English-speaking countries! =)

I love a lot of flower/nature names, but Lily is one of the few that I'm just not a fan of. I think I used to like it, and it's not *bad* ... I guess I'm just sick of it.

I read a lot of fanfiction, and Lily is one of those names that *everyone* uses when a character in fanfic has children.

hm good point maybe.. theoretically? but i can't think of meeting any adult thinking, "too cutesy for an adult"?

From: [identity profile] admirari.livejournal.com
yeah, i think if anything it might make the person seem younger and 'lighter'

can you think of the names that made you think they were too cutesy? I honestly can't think...

Also, I love your point about old names. What are those names?

and btw, iconlove ~i'm going to be getting a phoenix tat on my bicep this year~

Great names! My grandmother's name was Dorothy and she hated it. When she was in her early 90's she was ordering a sandwhich and gave the name, Yasmin :) :)

I don't think Lily ages well. Little girl, yes, college, no, professional, no, grandmother, no.

I agree. I think people over think names, and Lily is
one of those names that is always going to sound well
on any age. It's an absolutely beautiful name. ♥

I can see it on a child. friend. mother. grandmother.
anyone! >^____^< But then again, everyone has their
own opinion. lol.

But just sayin'..I really love the name.

I also agree that it doesn't age well, but I think it's like Molly in that regard. Molly really does not age well, but it is commonly used and it's not uncommon to see it on an adult or an old woman. Lily's about the same.

And I do like Lily better than Lillian. I've got a Lily that is an Lilika and I like that.

Everyone is considering (or has already used) that name for their daughter. It's the Jennifer of the aughts.

I love Lillian. It's a popular name, but it's timeless and beautiful. I was thinking about naming one of my twins Lillian if either had been female.

I was thinking of...

Lillian True (Out there I know, I suppose a guilty pleasure)

Lillian Patrice

Lillian Isadora

Lillian Ophelia

Lillian Matilda

Lillian Elsa

Lillian Catherine

My coworker named her baby Lily Grace.

I would love to use the name, but Lily Farmer would just set my kid up for some lame joks.

Any sort of turn-of-the-century name would go well with it. Like "Agnes" (though most of you probably hate that one).
