Dreams I've Had about my future daughters
Feb. 6th, 2008 02:33 amHi! Lauren here. I hope everyone is doing well. I’ve had dreams not only with names in them, but these dreams are of my three and sometimes four adopted daughters! I’m not kidding! I’m going to try and summarize this here as best I can. But for more detail, just read my LJ! In the dreams, my three and sometimes four adopted daughters are named Kaia Rose, Zaida Nicole, Kiana Hope, Ana for short and Sophie Elisabeth. Sometimes my fourth daughter is named Gloria Faith, but most of the time, it’s Sophie Elisabeth. I’ve had these dreams since Dec 2006 and I’ve written them out in story form for everyone to enjoy them. The people who have read them so far really seem to like them a lot!
When I write the dream stories, I write the girls exactly how they act in the dreams.
First of all, Let me explain a little about these dreams and how I see them. Whenever I have these dreams, or any dreams, I dream in color. I also have all five senses when I dream. In the dreams I’ve had about Kaia and Zaida, along with the dreams I’ve had where all four girls are present, I, myself, am still visually impaired. But that doesn’t take away from me being able to take care of my girls in any way.
Now to my sweet Kaia Rose. Kaia is usually six months to fourteen years old in these dreams I’ve had about her.
Kaia‘s full name is Kaia Rose Rodriguez. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair is to the middle of her back. Her brown eyes have a little blue around the edges. The blue is usually more visible when she’s either excited or really happy about something. The other exception is if she’s angry or in a heated discussion with one of her sisters or her friends.
Kaia is pretty easy going most of the time in these dreams. She loves to be cuddled and read to and she also loves to draw and go on trips to the mall and the park. She especially loves it when I push her on the swings. She adores cats.
Kaia does have her moments, like all kids, but she is generally a good girl. She’s a sweetheart and she has a big heart and is ready to help anyone who needs it. She’s also a good listener and she knows when you’re having a bad day and need to talk. She could just sit with you and you know she cares. She really knows the meaning of Ohana and she loves being around them.
Kaia doesn’t mind sharing a room with Zaida when we’re not at home, but she likes having her privacy as well. She also enjoys playing the piano and singing. She also likes to swim and take walks outside. Her favorite colors are purple and rose. She’ll eat almost anything, and she has a healthy appetite. Her favorite snacks are pineapples, pretzels, peaches and popcorn.
Kaia and Zaida get along pretty well. They don’t fight often and Kaia is quick to protect and defend Zaida if the situation calls for it. They will argue sometimes, but usually they get along really well, despite being four years apart.
Now for my girl. Zaida is usually two to eight years old in the dreams. She is very easy going most of the time. She has brown eyes and brown hair that flows down her back like a wave. Her hair is almost to the middle of her back.
Zaida absolutely enjoys being read to and having cuddle time with me. She also likes playing outdoors and going places in the car.
Zaida’s favorite colors are blue and purple. Her favorite snack food is pretzels, gram crackers, pineapples and any kind of raw vegetables.
Zaida is pretty friendly most of the time and she enjoys helping new people feel welcome. She does get jealous sometimes, but that’s only if she thinks she is being left out of things.
Now, when Zaida is upset, she'll either come find me for cuddle time and just climb into my lap and let her emotions out, no questions asked, or she'll go and sit on the deck and watch the tide go in and out. She does the first one more often though. The second one is when she can't find me, which is rare. Zaida will talk to me, even if she's crying, but she usually doesn't get that upset unless something is really wrong.
There are only two things that really tick Zaida off.
One is if someone breaks a promise to her, no matter how it happens or they explain their reason. The only exception is if an emergency happens and she's told before hand.
The other thing is if she feels left out of things, which doesn’t happen very often.
This usually occurs when Zaida wants time with Kaia, but Kaia wants alone time and if I'm busy and can't spend time with her. But even if I'm busy, I make time for Zaida. i make time for all my girls.
Well I hope everyone has enjoyed this first part of a look into my girl’s personalities and some of their likes and dislikes. The next and final part will be about Kiana, Sophie and Gloria.
Who? God
What? He loves you.
Where? Everywhere.
When? Always, forever, without ceasing.
How? Unconditionally, totally and completely.
Why? Because you are His child

Date: 2008-02-06 08:51 pm (UTC)I like Sophie (I prefer Sophia a bit more), Zaida and Anna. (Ana with one N reminds me of anorexia.)
I have to ask - will you be disappointed if your children are not like the ones in your vivid dreams?

Date: 2008-02-07 12:37 am (UTC)I'll try to say this as nicely as I can: when you go into a community of mixed religious belief and make several posts a day with religious messages blatantly affixed, people will raise their hackles. They have come here to discuss baby names, not their belief in the supernatural.
More importantly, and the thing that REALLY gets me personally, is the tone in which you present the above mentioned religious beliefs. In one comment in this post, you defend your six lines and say that they're "only the truth". But to many of us, they are NOT the truth. Part of growing up is learning that not everybody's truths are the same. Again, if this were a religious debate community, nobody would blink at your insistence, but telling people that they need to succumb to your beliefs as fact is completely irrelevant in this forum.
In another comment in this post, you imply that you believe your four hypothetical daughters will follow your same branch of religious belief because of things that happen in your dreams. The belief that dreams are concrete, exact predictors of the future is so uncommon in this era that many of us are tempted to think you only pretend to hold this belief.
Telling us that you know your children will be steadfast in the same faith as you because you will tell them what you call "the truth" from an early age strongly implies that the many members of this community who do NOT teach your religious beliefs to their children are withholding "the truth" from their offspring. Do you see why indirectly accusing them of bad parenting might not endear you to others? Additionally, this statement implies that those of us raised by religious parents who no longer subscribe to this belief are now believing falsehoods. I'm sure this is exactly what you think — that we are believing falsehoods — but just as it would be rude to tell somebody outright "What you think is wrong and stupid" it is rude to imply the same.
It is presumptuous to imply that you DESERVE kindness and respect (in your own words) of people with whom you are interacting when you have belittled their beliefs, thus withholding both kindness and respect.
I believe that you do not intend to offend, but if you're serious in an intention to foster good will, it will have to go beyond what you HOPE to convey to examining HOW you present your beliefs and thoughts without denigrating the thoughts and beliefs of others.
But aside from all that, the core issue here is context. This community is for the discussion of names. It is only vaguely, peripherally about the people who might bear the names. The religious beliefs of hypothetical people in dreams who bear names... well, it's not exactly on-topic, if you see what I mean.
