I dislike the name Aubrey in gereral, though. Audrey is a better alternative.

If she meant for a male, then I suggest a more masculine name. If she meant for a female, then I suggest Audrey, because it's more classic/less trendy.

I agree. I think it LOOKS pretty, but it is a sorry excuse for Aubrey. If you have to look at a name more than twice to figure out what it says, it's probably not the best way to spell it. But to each his own i guess.
