I like both but lean toward Owen Patrick because Jake is overused. I have a common name myself, and it sucks when everyone has your name, even if you like it. Owen is recognizable, but not as apt to be heard everywhere. There will likely be three Jakes in his classroom. However, he should be able to say he's the only Owen.

I also think Owen Patrick flows better, and I just like those names more. For some reason have never been able to warm to Jake (do like Jack though).

i'm the opposite - i can't warm up to jack, because it reminds me of "jack off." isn't that terrible? my husband would LOVE to call our boy jack.

not bad. my hubby likes jacob, but i just think of the lead singer of the wallflowers, you know - bob dylan's son? well, i could go with jake something else. like perhaps jake oliver. that's nice too.

Well...I've just never heard of it as a full name before. But I guess if "Jack" and "Kate" are used as full names, there's no reason Jake can't be.
