The other day I was visiting my sister and there was a guy there who had a son named Alexavier, nicknamed Zavie.

WDYT?

kinda stupid, if you ask me :D

I like both Alexander and Xavier, but people should start getting with the program that it's pronounced Cs-ah-vee-AY, not Zah-vee-AY.

It's like Zhun-veev for Geneviève, it's butchering!

But other than that, in this case the main problem is that they merged two names in one..

I guess I give them points for trying. I do think Zavie's kind of a cute nickname for Xavier, though. At least, around the house. Seems a little too sissified to withstand the taunts of the schoolyard.

Ugh. I hate combined names. Choose Alexander or Xavier, and give the kid a break. And Zavie is an awful nickname for it. It sounds really feminine to me.

It's a neat thing to try. But I don't thin that name is working IRL. And the nn Zavie sounds like a little girl's name.

I kind of like Alexavier, I've heard worse. I hate Zavie as a nn.

That's so odd. I hate combined names. One other awful one I remember seeing here is Olydia.
