Elliott--my favorite cousin's middle name
Rohan--Yes, Lord of the Rings reference
Strider-- Aragorn's nickname in LOTR
Xander or Zander-- b/c of Vin diesel's character in XXX
Roman
Gabriel
Maddox
Linkin-- as in Linkin Park
Holden-- Catcher in the Rye
Griffin-- yes partly due to Family Guy but i also like the mystical creature

Paxton-- best friends last name
Raphael-- angel and italian
Dexter-- good friends first name that he never goes by
Ryker-- star trek-- next generation lol
Spencer-- diana's last name
Warrick-- first name of a character on CSI (my favorite)
Garrett
Zackary-- like this spelling b/c people are gonna shorten it to "Zack" not "Zach"
Westley--character from THE PRINCESS BRIDE

Like or love:
Dominic, Elliott, Rohan, Roman, Gabriel, Paxton (Pax, meaning peace, is such a great nn!), Raphael, Dexter, Spencer, Westley, Garrett

Dislike and why:
Strider, Ryker -- Both sound like things you say over your CB radio to your "good buddy." Don't like them as names at all; I think they lack class.

Xander -- Always reminds me of animal dander, and then a kid with dandruff. I do like Alexander, just hate Xander alone.

Maddox -- Nothing about "mad ox" makes me think of a happy, kind, decent child. I expected a total hellion brat.

Linkin -- I don't anything about this one, but it's not a misspelling of Lincoln is it?

Holden -- Verb names like this and Chase both me. They sound like sentence fragments.

Griffen -- Actually I don't mind this one, I just didn't like it enough to group with the other.

Warrick -- Way too surnamey sounding, and starting with the sound "war" doesn't appeal to me.

Zackary -- Zachary spelled this way is one of my biggest name pet peeves. Zachary is 100x better.

Dominic - I know someone with this name and so I could never give a child the name, because the guy I know is not someone I would like to associate with my child!
Elliott - I love it, and my first ever boyfriend when I was really little was called Elliott!
Rohan - I like it
Maddox - I like it, but wish I could think of a decent nickname, Mad?!
Dexter - just reminds me of the cartoon character!
Zackary - I love it
And the others simply arn't to my taste.

Dominic, Elliot, Gabriel, Raphael, Spencer, Garett, Zachary (the K looks really tacky and his name will be "misspelled" to the Zachary by everyone his entirely life that way seeing as it's...well, misspelled) are okay.

Ryker?! like Rikers? THE PRISON?!

Wesley is okay, Westly is awful.

Xander is just a nickname -- if you really like it, why not go with Alexander and call him Xander. That way if he gets sick of being Xander #5 in his class, he can fall back on Alex or Alexander?

Maddox is an alright name but I'd stay away from it.

Rohan, Strider, Linkin, Dexter, Warrick are awful. Can you really imagine a 25 year old MAN named STRIDER? Dr Strider Johnson. Hm. No.

The only ones I really don't like are Linkin and Ryker.

I'm a LOTR fan as well and I think Rohan and Strider are perfectly fine names. (And, ultimately, it's up to you, not anyone else.)
