(no subject)

Hi, I'm new to the community. I'm due in July and I'm having trouble choosing some names. We have one daughter named Anna Grace. Our last name is Brazile (pronounced Brazzle) of Irish origin. If you can't tell, we're not into trendy trendy names. I want something timeless and classic but not boring.

So far, I've only got one name if the baby is a boy: Dylan Patrick, even though I think it may be too popular at the moment.

Does anyone have any suggestions on both boys and girls names?

Thanks!

alex isn't the only nickname for alexandria! i use xandria (prn ex-andria) and xan (zan) :) ally/allie/ali/etc. work too. the only reason i don't use those is because my sister, allison, only goes by allie.
plus, you can always take the route of her not wanting a nickname. my twin sister refuses to be jackie, it's always jacqueline.

ps, i like patrick :)

I looooove Patrick, but Dylan is very very very popular/trendy. Plus, it's becoming kind of dated in the late 90s kind of way.

Jonas Patrick
Colin Patrick
Adrian Patrick
Kellen Patrick
Ian Patrick
Asa Patrick
Callum Patrick
Liam Patrick

I also like Patrick as a first name, a lot. That would actually be my first choice. I also like Ian Patrick.

For girls...
Lucy
Catherine
Lena
Lydia
Josephine
Nadine
Maura
Margaret (Molly, Meg, etc.)
Bethany
Caroline

Asa is pronounced Ay-suh. I love it:)

Lucy would most likely not be shortened to LuLu or Luce; Lucy's pretty common, and I've never heard anyone called 'LuLu'. Maybe Luce, but usually as in, "Hey, Luce, can you pass me that stapler?" and not as an actual substitute for the name. I understand with Josephine, though, because it would probably get shortened to Josie/Jo pretty often. I love Joey as a nickname:)

I like Carolyn, but definitely prefer the -line ending of Caroline. -Lyn always seems trendy-ish to me. But Carolyn is nice, too.

P.S.

Since you have an Irish last name, my favorite name of the origin is Seamus. :) I also like Rafferty, but not sure how you would feel about that.
