SInce you guys guessed so quickly I'll share this too. I had a coworker named Cherie. She introduced herself as Sherry. Does anyone else think this is odd? Why not just name her Sherry or Sherri?

One of my good friends is named Cherie and it's pronounced Sherry as well. She was named after her aunt, whose name was also spelled Cherie and pronounced that way. I thought it was kind of weird at first, but then she also has no accent marks in her name for it to require the French pronunciation.
