[identity profile] thorabrighid.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
i was just reading an article on cnn, and there was a baby named Xzavyer. do not like.

Also, when I was in panera the other day i heard a mother calling out to a little girl - Barkley. Not Berkley, Barkley. I don't like that either.

what do you think?

Ick. I dislike Xzavyer. And Barkley makes me think of a dog. Is that horrible?

Xzavyer, if a word, would make an EXCELLENT Scrabble play. Four counters and a bingo.

As a name, though, it SUCKS.

I'm not a big fan of crazy spellings. Unless the kid's father is Charles Barkley and they call her by her last name then I don't like it.

As a big fan of Xavier: ouch.

As far as Barkley goes, I don't know, seems like they should have held out for a boy and named him Charles. (Yes, assumptions, assumptions.)

Xzavyer looks like they wanted to throw all 'uncommon' letters in one name =\
& Barkley...gross. I don't like Berkeley (or any other spelling), but Barkley is even worse.

Xzavyer looks like they wanted to make sure it was pronounced they way they wanted at the expense of good taste.

And...are you sure the woman wasn't calling a dog?

Hate Xzavyer.

I don't like Barkley either, but it could also be spelled Barclay, which is a little better.

I saw that article on MSNBC! The mother's name was awful, too. Dalynn?

I like Barkley, actually. Maybe not for a girl, though.

I would hope the parents of the child Xzayver weren't aware of the proper spelling of the name Xavier, as they seem to be completely unaware about the phonetics when spelling it that way.

Barkley...if they wanted a dog, why didn't they get a dog?
