[identity profile] sandtree.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
All the babies were featured in the local paper today, so I got the stats for the most popular names in 2007. This is for Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

The most popular boy's name was: NOAH

However, if you add Jack and Jackson together, it's by far the most popular (17 babies named Jack or Jackson vs. 12 named Noah.)

The most popular girl's name was: JULIA

Names that rhymed with 'ayden': 19

Mia & Maya are different names..

mee-uh and my-uh

I'd also say that Sara & Sarah are different names, but that's just to my british ears.

Really?
That's so odd, I've never ever heard of them as the same.

Most Mia's I know are short for Amelia, but I know it's a pretty popular stand alone name now- especially in Australia.

My Windsorite friend (oddly enough, the same woman who had Nicolas) named her daughter Mia and they pronounce it mee-uh.

Where I live (western U.S.) Mia and Maya are also different. But Sara and Sarah are the same.
