I work at Wendy's (omg, don't tease me) and I served a woman with a baby today. In the spirit of being nice and all that, I gushed about how cute she was and asked her name.

Her name? Tequila Sunrise.

It gets worse.

She decided to spell it out for me.

T'Kilah Sunnrize.

Apparently, she went into labour while at a cocktail party and decided it was an appropriate name. :\

I didn't have the guts to ask if she was drinking, but I don't think so. xP

She seemed pretty happy. :P It'll be good though, if she turns out to be like
a bartender or something.

Hopefully she just won't turn into an alcoholic when she gets older though!

Poor kid's doomed to being teased in grade school, AND beyond by people who know the drink and think it's funny. Eventually people might start to think the name is amusing rather than something to tease about... but I think the poor kid is in for a lifetime of name comments.
As for the spelling.... doomed to have her name misspelled for the rest of her life.

Maybe people will be so shocked that her name is T'Kilah Sunnrize that they'll leave her enough time to slip in the spelling..?

Wow poor kid. Its bad enough to be tequila sunrise, but to then make such a ghetto-ized spelled version of it?? I think I would rather stick to the proper way of spelling if I had to stay with that name jeezus.. poor lil kid.

lol, reminds me of this comedian i saw once.. and he did substitute teaching PT... and said he said he thought the kids were playing pranks on him, b/c of all the weird ass names.

in one bit, he goes: "ok... now i KNOW this is fake. Escalade?!"
adn in a little girl's voice w/ attitude he goes: "ACTUALLY, it's Es-cuh-LAH-day."

he does another effed up name or two, before he yells: "ALRIGHT, those of y'all whos parents named you after vehicled they'll never afford, right side! normal names in the middle! and the rest of y'all whos parents were effed up on god knows what when they names you, left side!"

lol. "Tuh-KEE-la" or "tee-Kai-la"... it's bad all the way around...

Hahah! Who knows, maybe that T'Kilah lady will call her next kid Escalade...or Eskyladay....;)

My basic reaction to that was;

Hahahah. Gotta love those awkward customer moments. When people come in with their children, they usually set them up on the counter, and the kid turns and stares at me, so I feel the need to comment on how cute they are, even if they're really, really...uncute. I usually ask their names, too. If it's really bad, all I can usually think of it, "Awww, that's nice." It probably sounds really, really fake.

I know! I'm always like
"Oh my God, she's so adorable! Now, was that a large, regular or small?"

I think I would just go by Sunnrize.
