Heather and Amber.

they're my second-cousins. I'm not fond of either name but as far as sibsets go, I think they're great together. they're kinda matchey in a "things found in nature" sort of way but not SO matchey as to be two plants or two kinds of rock.

It's that time of year when I start outlining my nanowrimo novel. I need some help naming my protagonist and his sister.

They are in their early thirties (guy is maybe 32, sister a year or two older), so they would have been born late seventies, very early eighties. Born in California to parents who were slightly hippie-ish and also surfers. I don't want any over the top Hippie names, but these are parents who definitely wouldhave bypassed Jessica and Michael.

I was thinking Brynn for the sister. Maybe Willow? I'm completely stumped for the guy. I keep coming back to Lance for some reason, but I just loathe that name.

I'm usually great at naming characters, just not this time.

Thanks!

Parents: Chris & Danielle
Daughter: Verbena Grace (nicknames: Beans, Beanie, V)

Parents: Genevieve & Calder
Son: Athos (don't remember middle name. also quite unique :)

Parents: Doug & Adrienne
Daughter: Aliza

Parents: Patrick & Rosie
Daughter: Finley

Parents: Josiah & Deirdre
Son: Lucas Alakai (nickname Luci), older brother Aiden

-I'd never heard Verbena as a name before, but now that I know and love the baby, I love her name :)
-Prefer the Eliza spelling rather than Aliza
-I like Finn for a boy or a girl

Are embed videos supposed to go under a cut here? I didn't know so I put it under a cut anyway.

SO!

Under this lj-cut (if I did it correctly) is a Youtube video by the vlogbrothers on How to Name Your Baby Properly!

Watch and be amazed!

...or alternatively comment here on things you disagree with what Hank said. That's cool too.
