What’s in a Name? Ask Google

KALIA is a stripper name, but Kaleya is not, her parents-to-be concluded.

No offense to the Kalias of the world, but Lecia and Thor Kaslofsky decided this two years ago, after conducting a Google search of names they were considering for their first child.

A search for Kalia pulled up several images of scantily clad women. “I didn’t want there to be a Google identity for her to wrestle with,” said Ms. Kaslofsky, a corporate investigator in San Francisco. So the couple, who wanted an uncommon name, came up with a creative spelling that sounds the same as kah-LEE-ah: Kaleya.

Family names

I liked the idea of posting family names. I am Puerto Rican but born in NYC, you will see the Americanization of my family's names as you read them. Has anyone else experienced that with their family names?
Grandparents: Julia and Manuel, my bio grandfather died way before I was born and the year before I was born my grandmother met Ruben Lorenzo, the only grandfather I have ever known. We lost him on 9/20/2011. In honor of them both I plan of naming my children Ava Julia and Julian Lorenzo.
Mom, aunts and uncles:
Aida, Ada, Lydia, Milagros, Felix and Hernan
Grand kids: Maritza, Ulises Jr, Reynaldo, Melinda, Adny, Pierre, Jahira, Aida(me), Carlos Jr,Jose, Felix Jr, Veronica, Alexa
