An old co-worker of my husband is the proud father of a new baby girl: Clara. I love it! It's cute but classic, and it ages very well, at least in my humblest of opinions.

Just to mix things up a bit, I have a small collection of pet names, some of which I've used, and I was just curious what kind of animal you'd use it on. I've broken them into groupings (basically, what they were inspired from).

TV Shows/Actors & Actresses: Alf, Arcadia, Asher, Balty, Benton, Brikemity, Hawkeye, Lenny, Squiggy, Trapper
Songs/Musicians: Amos Moses, Bellamy, Blaine, Blake, Cash, Dierks
Books/Movies: Anakin, Atticus, Aurora, Bennett, Ennis, Huckleberry, Ivanhoe, Nala, Sawyer, Simba, Yossarian
Human names: Beaumont, Campbell, Chance, Chip, Conall, Desiree, Hudson, Rufus
Sports: Bertuzzi, Magglio, Omar, Ozzie, Pasha
Religion: Cephas, Eden
Other: Maximus, Roscoe

Also, if it sounds like fun, how would you pair them up? ("Sibsets" if you will).

Here are my "sibsets":
Hawkeye & Trapper
Lenny & Squiggy
Nala & Simba
Huckleberry & Sawyer & Ivanhoe

My mother is a new college professor and she was very excited to show me her class roster. Where all of the names are painfully normal except Stepfanie whose parents were apparently very indecisive.

I was quick to point out to my mother that a "p" is only silent when paired with an "h". What an unfortunate spelling.

Came across a random "Bad Baby Name" article and this was in the comments: whynter. In my end of the day haze, I thought it was pronounced Whitener (like bleaching your teeth lol). Then I started leaning towards more of a Whiner-ish pronunciation. Then I read the comment and realized its Winter....

I'm currently in a French immersion program, and there are our older professors, but there are also the younger people to lead us around on our cultural activities, and such. These people are all Quebecois French, minus one girl who is from Algeria, and their ages range from 19-50, but most of them are in their early twenties.

Alexandra (like)
Annie (x2)
Céline (I think Selene/Céline is such a gorgeous name, but I would never be able to get pass Celine Dion)
Hélène

I personally just adore the French language and also French names, so I get them not being everybody's idea of a good time, but WDYT?
