A couple days ago I posted about potential names for our first child (
click here to read the entry so I don't bore anyone with the same information) and someone commented that if we went with the name Benjamin Archer (our last name is Mulder) the baby's initials would be BAM.
For some reason that really bothered me. I really wouldn't want my child to have initials that spell something (though really how often would someone notice?). I mentioned it to Josh (the husband) and he agreed that he wouldn't like that either. The more I thought about it I found that I was more distressed not liking the letter combo and it dawned on me. I want to name my kid Benjamin.
Before this morning I had no strong feelings for any of our names in particular. I loved them all equally and could go with any of them. So I brought this up to Josh and he said he felt the same thing. Awesome! We know what we are going to name munchkin if it is a boy. Not so awesome: now we need a middle name.
Like I said before we are not going to either side of the family for input on naming nor does anyone know the gender (for all we know the baby is a girl and the whole name thing is not an issue.) So here is where you fine people come in. We need middle name ideas. I know, I know, middle names arent that important since they are never really used ... but we are stumped. Josh and I don't like the sound of Benjamin with any of our other boy names so really we are open to any suggestions.
We both have a thing for surnames for middle name (or for names in general), we like names that are off-beat (but can still be used and aren't completely bonkers), we also like traditional names (hello, Benjamin). Just nothing too kr8tive or trendy (trendy is fine just as long as every kid and his next door neighbor doesn't have the name).
Any help would be lovely! Thanks!
