I think my taste in names is going through an evolution. I'm finding I don't have the same feeling towards a lot of my long-time favourites, and I'm starting to be drawn towards totally different styles of names.

Not entirely unusual I'm sure, I know it's happened to me at least once before, post high school.

Either way, what do you think of the following:

Boys
Joshua
Jude
Luke
Samuel
Logan
Zachary
Parker
Tristan
Nathan
Leo (I can't for the life of me think of a full form for Leo that I like, but I LOVE the nickname).

Girls
Lillian
Violet
Alice
Ramona
Naomi
Phoebe
Fern
Tabitha

Also, do you have a name that you LOVE but would never be considered a favourite due to it's atrocious meaning? For example, I've always loved Claudia but the meaning (disabled or lame) kind of ruins it for me.

This DID however work in my favour when the Fiance told me he really liked the name Kennedy for a girl. I tried to tell him just how awful an idea that is, but it's the fact that it means deformed head or some such nonsense that finally convinced him.

I just got a spam email with a name that made me cringe.

Just two names I saw at work yesterday:

Latoya Marie (in her early twenties)
Mikaylah (seven or eight)

As well, the name Leon. I think the name Leonie is pretty, but I don't think I would use it/I have enough girl names on my list. Just a couple days ago, Leon hit me for the first time; I had never considered it before, but I think I like it.

WDYT?

So, being back at school means I get to meet a whole new bunch of people, and new names.. and I've stumbled upon probably the WORST spelling of a name, ever.

Kiehli

...pronounced as "Kylie"  Uhhhh, she's 20 and that is the most horrendous and kr8tyv spelling I've ever encountered. WDYT?

My sister is expecting in April.

She has 3 children already and I don't know the older two's middle names (she was a teenager at the time (I was like 6) and now she and the kids are embarrassed by the middles she picked out so they don't share)

Rachel
Micheal
Cole Everett

She wants to name the 4th Corbin, if it's a boy or a girl. If it's a girl they will do Corbin Dallis (huh?!). They have no idea what middle to use if it's a boy.

Suggestions (for boys and girls) for middle names to go with Corbin please and thank you!

I was in Walmart today and my cashier, who was in her 20s, was named Jernie (pronounced like the word journey).

WDYT of Jernie?

WDYT of

Margareth (rhyming with Elizabeth)
Geng (she's an Asian girl)
Kalidra (Kah-LEE-dra)

I do sub work at a preschool and today I met one of the newest little girls.

Her name? Perfect.

WDYT? Personally, I think it's pretty awful. I'm not a huge fan of adjective names to begin with, but I feel like this one is worse than most. It sets high expectations, and I'm guessing middle school will be hell for her. Poor girl. :(

What do you think of the name Salem for a girl?

I think I like it but I haven't decided yet.
