My family has a new addition! A puppy! We have named her Racie. My parents are runners so it suits them.
She joins doggy big sisters: Zoe, Ginny, and Nalla. A Bunny sister Bailey.
Previous dogs we had were: Cody, Folly, and Pebbles.
Feel free to post your pets names!

What do you think about Pearl?

It's a name my partner brought up the other day out of the blue, and I was wondering what everyone thought of it. Is it too 'old lady'?

I just walked by the business school where I am a part time student and saw they had posted the 2009 graduates and the 2010 internship postings for the year - here are the names.  Michael wins the popularity contest with 3, K/Cathleen wins with 2 for girls.  Overall not a lot of repeat names.

Is using the original (in this case Gaelic) spelling of a name just too much for modern times? Since I'm Irish, some girl names we were toying around with include...

Name (pronunciation) - meaning/origin
* Éile (AYL-yeh) - ???
* Muirín (MWYR-in) - born of the sea
* Beckett (BEK-et) - author Samuel Beckett
* Cearnaigh (KEER-nee) - fox, victorious
* Máire (MAW-y-reh) - rebellious, bitter

We both like Máire (very similar to Moira) the best, but I thought I'd throw them out there to see what you fine folks think :) Thanks for any feedback!

And you guys should see some of the crazier ones, haha. For example, "Bairrfhionn" is pronounced "Berrin" and "Caoimhe" is pronounced "Keevah." Crazy Irish!

One of my close friends had a baby last January. The father had passed away and she was considering honoring him with the name of the baby. His name was Alexander, making it very easy to make suitable for a boy or girl. Then she did a complete 180 and named the little girl Evelyn Alethia and she is called Evie (E-V). The middle name is the same middle name as herself and her mom which is her great grandmother's name. It's Catherine Alethia, Jaclyn Alethia, and Evelyn Alethia. I love the name Evelyn. Her middle name I have never been to crazy about but I love how they all have the same sounding names. WDYT?

Also, a third grade class I spent time in last year had a girl in it named Emilia (Amelia) and she was called Emmy. I love it. WDYT?
