Eleanor Louise, Henry Isaac, and Amelia Ruth.

My last poll ended up with it being a tie between Amelia Ruth and Amelia Elise, but the middle name Ruth won our hearts and we officially decided on it. The "Ruth Richards" (our last name) part will be a bit tricky, but we decided that Ruth just fit better with our other names rather than Elise.

Thoughts?

I love them all! Congrats on your decision. Naming one child is hard enough, I can't imagine trying to name three all at one time!

Nifty.

I'm Ember Marie Maselli, and it works just fine with the double initials.

Lovely.

Something I've been curious about. When you're choosing names for multiples of the same sex, how do you decide which baby gets which name? As in, which one's Amelia and which one's Eleanor? Have you assigned them already to baby girl A and baby girl B on the ultrasound, or whichever comes out first will be Amelia, or what?

That makes sense. I have a lot of trouble understanding how people can pick babies' names way in advance of the babies, because to me, it's not about if you like the name or not, it's primarily about how the name fits the baby (and I think you can get a good sense of that pregnant).

I'm baffled by people who have had their childrens' names set in stone from the time they're 15 years old. Sure, there have always been names I liked or disliked or thought would be good to use, but it wasn't until I was about halfway through pregnancy that we really started trying to match a name with the baby. (And in our case, we still couldn't- Catherine wasn't named until about 18 hours after she was born).

So yeah, that makes a lot of sense to me.

ALL GREAT NAMES!

That is one hell of an amazing sibset, if I do say so myself. Even if Eleanor isn't my favorite name, and neither is Ruth or Louise, they all work well together. And if we're going by nicknames, Ellie, Henry, and Mia are amazing, too.

Congrats!

To me, the baby grows into the name. I don't feel I need to find a name to "fit" a baby. I'm Claire, but I'm nothing like the Claire on Heroes, so does that make me not like a Claire? I don't get it. The names don't have to fit the baby...you will come to associate whatever name you choose with your child.

I was voting for Ruth all along, it sounds fine with Richards. Amelia Elise seems like it has too many vowels.

Eleanor, Louise, Henry, and Isaac are all favorites of mine. And Amelia Ruth sounds nice with them, for sure. Yay!

Ooh, I definitely prefer Elle to Nora, just if nicknames mean anything to you. Nora sounds like its own name to me, so I never let people call me that.

See, I have a hard time understanding how the baby can or can't fit a name. I mean, can you really tell so much about a person within the first 18-24 hours or their life that you can decide what name will best suit them forever? I always figured the baby grew into the name.

awesome! I like all those names, first and middle, enough to use. not just in that "those are nice names" way, but really and truly, in that I WOULD PICK THOSE kind of way :)

heh. I think naming 3 would be easier.. then I wouldn't have to pick which one I like *best*, and wouldn't have to worry about the possibility of never having another child of that sex to use the other names on...

I'm an Elise fan, but I think Amelia Ruth's great, too. Those are all beautiful names. Again, congratulations! You should update us with pics when they're born as a reward for voting. :^)
