My aunt and I were walking to a thrift store the other day when I noticed a scrolling marquee at the local high school (great use of money in a poor town btw, right?!?). The marquee was listing the Students of the Month.

I just happened to look up with this name appeared in lights:

What are some middle names that would go well with the name Adrienne? So far, the only two I'm seriously considering are Jane and Gale. I really like Sydney, but unfortunately, I don't think it really works as a middle name. Any suggestions/feedback would be great.

Character nickname question

Hey guys! Help me out with naming in a story I'm working on?

I'm pretty sure my main character goes by Kit, but it needs to be her nickname (this is relevant to the plot, I swear!). Whatever full name she has, I need to be able to get another nickname out of it that doesn't sound anything like Kit and isn't immediately recognizable as coming from the same full name, preferably starting with a different letter (example -- Anna and Stacy for Anastasia). I kind of feel like her full name is Katrina, but that's more or less open to change. So possibly nicknames for Katrina (it can be a stretch; I don't mind) that don't start with 'K' are ideal, but if you need to go with a different full name, go ahead and suggest.

She's told me pretty firmly that Kit is her name, but if you want to make a suggestion of a full name and two really different nicknames that you think would work well here, I wouldn't mind hearing it.

If you're really curious why this is relevant, I can tell you; I just wanted to make sure y'all knew that it wasn't just me being obsessed with nicknames again. ;)

For reference, this is for a elementary-school-aged girl born in the early 90s. Thanks!

I have posted a name list here before, but I've been working on updating it, changing it, I think improving it, based on my own thoughts and the opinions that I got here last time that I posted. So please, if would you vote. If anybody has any ideas for the names that have yet to be paired up, I'd love to hear them. If anybody has anything to say at all, I'd love to hear it.

[EDIT] I just added the combinations Nathaniel Rhys and Noah Callum, which are just the middle names switched on the original Nathaniel and Noah names. I don't know which pairings of them I like the most, so yes, the very similar combinations are all supposed to be there.

New baby

A family friend has just had a little girl, and named her Ellison. She has a middle name, but my mother didn't know what it was.

I would have said I didn't like it before I saw the baby, who is just the cutest thing in the world and does kinda look like an Ellie, in as much as a newborn can...So yeah, I'm reserving judgement. Maybe until I meet her and hear what her MN is.
