whaddya think?
Sep. 8th, 2008 10:52 amWhat do you think of the names Genevieve and Evangeline? Either as sisters or on their own? Lately, I love both names and think they might work together as sisters (not pregnant, no intentions on having a baby any time particularly soon). Both are names of songs that I like, which makes me like them more...
More names.

Sep. 8th, 2008 02:31 pmSo, my English professor took attendance today, and there is a guy in my class named Joaquin. Except for one thing: the guy pronounces it joe-ah-kin.
Is this an actual pronuncation of it, or were his parents (or him, if he purposely changes the pronunciation) just being stupid? I have never heard that particular pronunciation before (I've only ever heard the wah-keen pronunciation), so I guess that I could be the stupid one here.

New celebrity baby names!
Sep. 8th, 2008 05:12 pmDancing With The Stars' Tony Dovolani is the father of twins after his wife gave birth to a boy and a girl.
The professional dancer's wife Lina gave birth to son Adrian and daughter Adriana on Monday at a hospital close to their Connecticut home.
Dovolani tells People.com, "We are so happy, I can't stop smiling. Lina was such a champ, and she looks incredible right now."
The babies are the second and third children for the couple, who already have a three-year-old daughter, Luana.

Adrian and Adriana? That's, um....original.

My husband and I are still about three years from starting to try, but I thought I'd put some of are names out there.

A few things:
-There's a tradition on my husband's side on using Lee as the middle name for the first son. And any suggestions that go with Lee would be much appreciated because with having a ton uncles and male cousins I'm at my wit's end.
-Hana will be pronounced Ha-na after the town on Maui that we drove to the day before we got married.
-Ann, Mary, and Rose are grandmothers. Dale and Walter are grandfathers. LeeRoy happens to be the name of both of our maternal grandfather. And hubby takes a lot after Grandpa Schwartz (Walter) and Great Grandpa LeeRoy. Glen and Paul were my grandma's brothers that died young and I would only use those names with her permission.
-Hubby has a very off sense of names. He thinks that Owen is trendy and Jackson is old fashioned. *faceplam*

Sep. 8th, 2008 09:08 pmMy husband and I are officially trying to get pregnant. That being said... I've finally been able to coax him to talk about names that he likes now that there is a reason. :P
He thought of, for a boy, Andy Andrew C***. It is his paternal grandfathers name. Both Andy, Andrew, and the combination of the two are traditional in his family. Hubbys middle name is Andrew and his brothers first name is Andy, additionally.
We like the name of his maternal grandmother (she passed when he was around three) so, although not along the lines of our usual tastes, it holds great signifigance and meaning. That would be Grace. The only real conflict is that our niece is also named Grace.
My mother-in-law will probably flip if we don't name him or her something semi-normal so I guess I have to keep that in mind. :P

Sep. 8th, 2008 09:50 pmWhich girl name do you prefer - Juliet or Scarlet? Do you think either of them would sound OK in a sibset with Lennon Daniel? I need middle name suggestions for both. My last name is two syllables beginning with the letter T.
Thanks!
