My new niece has born on Friday! Her name is Suzanne Melissa (Melissa is for her birth mother - my SIL and BIL are adopting her). They were very tight-lipped about the names they had picked out, so I'm not sure if Suzanne has any significance at this point.

WDYT?

ETA: Here are my other nieces and nephews' names, just for fun:

Lindsey Marie (11)
Alicia Mae (almost 9)
Alexander David (7)
Devin Christian (almost 5)
William Thomas (almost 4)

Thoughts?

WDYT of the girl's name Asha?
It means "hope" or "wish", which I really like. Could this name be used on a baby that isn't Indian without any odd looks from people?

Thanks for opinions!:]

(ETA: btw, in case any of you are wondering, I would prononce it "ASH-ah")

Ethan Hawke and his new wife, Ryan, recently had a baby girl named Clementine Jane. His two children with Uma Thurman are Maya Ray and Levon Roan.

I know that at least a few people in this community like it, but I hate Clementine. It is one of my least favourite names. But, WDYT?

What do you guys think of the names Daphne and Azalea? Not together or anything but just as themselves.
I don't think I've ever use either, Daphne makes me think a little bit of Daffy Duck and Azalea is maybe a bit too botanical for me...but yeah, they're kind of growing on me still.

So, I'm watching Bridezillas on We right now and one of the bride's names is Youmika. Her sister's name is Younetta.

WTH?

Also, some odd names I've come across lately at work:
Vonelle
Schneider (female, first name)
Kandatha

What do you think of the name Lelia? I came across it while doing genealogy research, and then met a Lelia at work, and I've been intrigued ever since. According to Behind the Name, it's the Italian form of the Ancient Roman Laelia, and, from what I gather, it could either be pronounced LEE-lee-a or LAY-lee-a, or perhaps even LEH-lee-a. I find it beautifully feminine, but it also kind of feels like it could become part of the next big trend, which is upsetting. Thoughts?
