Jeff and I were debating baby names last night. We definitely have a boy's name, but I want to know which order sounds better:
Ryan Frederick John LaPointe
Ryan John Frederick LaPointe
Ryan is Jeff's best friend, who passed away a few years ago. Frederick is Jeff's Dad, uncle, & Grandpa. John was my Great-Grandfather's first name on my mom's side, and is Dad's middle name and Grandpa's first name on my Dad's side. So we're sticking with these names, but again, it's the order of the middle names I'm debating.
For a girl, we had decided on
Claire Sydney _________. Sidney is my grandpa's name; we're still working on a second middle name from his family (again, the order might change, depending on what name we decide on from his and how it sounds).
Another name we had considered for a girl was
Taylor.
Anyway, Jeff's now not so sure about Claire, or Taylor. He likes them, but he wants to have a few "back-ups" in case we change our minds at the last minute. He had mentioned using Sydney as a first name, but I vetoed that. There's too many people with the same first names in my family, who then suffer from what I call the "Big Cathy/Little Cathy" syndrome. I want our baby to have a first name that's all their own.
So now... I need your help coming up with first names for a girl. We've decided on using two middle names (one from each of our families), so here's what we have to work with so far. Variations on these names are welcome.
I have to expand Jeff's family list a bit; like I said, there's not many women in his family, and these are only the ones I know off the top of my head. The ones starred in my list are the two I'd prefer to stick with - especially Sydney, as my grandpa more or less raised me.
EDIT: I don't want the first name to be derived from any of the names I've listed. I do, however, want the baby to have a middle name from each family - so if you're making combos, picking one name from each list would be appreciated ;)
