Ok it's about time I asked you all for some ideas because I am now over 32weeks and still ummming and ahhhing over name choices for this baby. It's a boy, and I lost my Mum about 20months ago now, so I wanted to celebrate her by naming this baby after her in some way. Well with it being a different sex her first and middle names won't work (Sharon Elizabeth if you're curious), plus she never was keen on her own name anyway (tell me about it lol). So I came up with using her maiden name as the baby's name, it being Carter. Which got lots of shocked and OH NO reactions from the family, we're in the UK and it's not a name that's used for a first name although I know it's used in the US a bit.

However, my man really likes it, and there's nothing else that I like, so Carter it is. Then we get to middle names, and I know that it's not really neccesary but I'd like to have one, maybe something quite regular in case he hates his first name as he gets older. The only one I can think of that sounds right is John but my son's name is Harley John. I don't like the whole CJ thing either (it makes me cringe, no idea why!).

So help me to find a middle name for Carter please :D

I quite like the fact that Harley's name is originally a surname and this baby's will be as well, although I wouldn't be bothered if they didn't match either, the surname thing was kinda an after thought. Thank you all!

An old friend of mine is naming her daughter Maile. I'm assuming its My-lee. Out of curiosity would you think it's pronounced May-lee or My-lee?

edit: I asked. It's definitely not MAIL. It is, in fact pronounced My-lee. Or Miley. Yes like the girl on Hannah Montana.

I met a little boy today named BRELAN and I kind of liked it. When I first heard it said, I thought it would be Breland with the D on the end, which I kind of liked as well. I doubt the future husband would ever go for it, but I thought I'd see what people think of it anyway.

Hello, my name is Karla and I just became a member.

My husband and I are expecting in September.

As of now we do not know the sex of the baby.

However, we have discussed names and we both strongly agree that we are not naming the child directly after a family member's first name.

I used to like the name Amber but have used it on the internet so it no longer was a name I considered for a baby.

My mother's middle name I always liked and her middle name is Elena.
The other female names are Emily & Hannah which I have always liked since I was a young girl.

As far as boys names go my husband suggested some outlandish names (such as comic book heroes), the one I liked was Logan which he said was the real name of the Wolverine character.

I knew this lady years ago who was trying to adopt for years and when she finally was granted the adoption she named her daughter Myla, my little angel and sadly the little girl passed away at age three.

I have to say there have been some unique names here.

I personally know a family where all the boys have names starting with Z.

My husband's grandparents were Nadine and Zeke.
Not real common names but I like some names no matter how common or uncommon they are.

What do you think about these names for girl sib sets?

Addison
Felicity
Hadley

These are all names I like a lot but not enough to knock my top favorites out of the way. ;-)
