New to this community but loving all the suggestions I've read.

Here's my dilemma: We're expecting a baby boy in October and my SO and I are very enthusiastic about the first name we've chosen, but undecided on a middle name.

However, our families hate (HATE) the name. So, I'd appreciate some feedback. Are we crazy? Or should we disregard the family input?

Our current children names:
Daughter, 8: Isabelle Nicole (Family names. I'm happy with it; but Isabelle has become much more popular than I expected)

Son, 7: Chase Dakota (I wasn't involved with that name....and apparently neither was he)

Son, 3: Griffin Cade (Cade is a family name. I do love this name)

Expectant baby:
River Alden (Alden = family name)
or
River Charles (Charles = dad's middle name)

Are we really crazy to choose "River?" Or should we disregard the family input?

My husband and I having a running list of "future baby names" and he'd like to name a child after his aunt (who I love and would love to name a baby after), but we're coming up with nothing.

Her name is Theresa, she goes by Terri. We're not too keen on actually using Terri and cannot use Theresa (complicated family history with the name). He can't remember her middle name, I'm going to ask her to see if that will be a possibility, but in the meantime thats all we have to work with.

So, any suggestions? Boy or girl. Spin-offs of the name are welcome.

AND:

We like the names Ruth and Joseph for middle names (and only middle names), its the firt names for these that we're not so set on.

What first names do you like with those middle names? They are both biblical names so a biblical first name is okay as long as its not too "much" (we're Christians but don't want a "omg look at the crazy religious nuts" kind of name!), we like them because they are family names. We like less kre8ive names, although we do like unusual names as well as classics.

I found some names in my local newspaper that made my jaw drop. I thought I would share and see what everyone thinks.

Sibset #1:
Ziciah Linnea (female, age 3 years)
Cinjin (male, age 3 months)

Sibset #2:
Kolby (male)
Kubota (male)

Alright, so Kolby I've heard of before, but the rest of the names, WTF?

What do you think of the middle name Knight or Night for a boy?  I got the idea from M. Night Shyamalan's name.  Don't hesitate to tell me if you think it’s ridiculous.

What do you think of Connor Night?  Any other first names that would sound good?

I just found out a few weeks ago I'm pregnant. I have always had a list of names I liked stashed away on my computer for future reference. Every time I hear a name I like, I add it to the list, when I decide I don't like a name anymore, I take it off.

Anyways, I thought I'd list them here for you cause I like reading other peoples names: ** = I like it alot

Girls:
Alessandra
Alexandria **
Anna
Elizabeth **
Isabel (or Isabelle)
Jennifer **
Jessica
Rachel
Rebecca
Reese **
Wendy

Boys:
Alexander **
Christopher
Jacob
Jesse
Matthew
Riley
William **
Wyatt (suggested by Hubby but I like it alot) **

Now the question.... what do you think a good middle name would be for Reese? Our last name is Hartline. I really like it but I just can't think of a middle name that goes smoothly with our last name! Any ideas? Same thing goes with Wyatt... need middle name suggestions. The rest of the names are normal enough that the normal middle names that run in our families will go good...

Thanks for any ideas. I want to have a good list to present to the hubby when it comes time to talk about this stuff.

Well I feel a little silly writing this as I'm neither expecting or planning on having any babies any time soon. But coming up with baby names has always been a little guilty pleasure of mine, usually scribbled on scraps of paper & stashed away in secret so no-one accidently reads them and laughs! But my boyfriend and I were talking about it the other day so I thought I'd make a post and see what everyone thinks :)

For no good reason other than background information, our names are Eleanor Jane & John-Paul and we're both Welsh.

Girls
Tallulah (long time favourite that I never go off!)
Arabel
Arwen
Sophia
Alice
& names I used to like but am going off a little are;
Anais
Eloise
Tanith
Daphne
Ruth

Boys
Elijah (it's been a favourite of mine for about ten years but to be quite honest, I'm going off it now!)
Caleb
Adam
Noah
Ethan
Joshua
Aaron
& my boyfriend really likes the name Gideon... which I told him he could name a cat but not a baby :)
I used to love the name Achilles too although everyone would tell me I was mad to name a child that... & I guess they are most probably right!

Favourites at the moment are;
Girl: Tallulah Arabel
Boy: No idea! I can't decide whether I like Ethan, Caleb or Aaron best.

I belong to another journaling community, and this is a list of babies born to diarists there within the last three months.

WDYT?
Kind of long, so I'll make a cut )
