when will people learn...

don't get mad at people for spelling your child's name wrong when YOU spell it totally wrong or out of whack (like the case of the girl i know who named her daughter Destiny Champane... or the spelling Ahmelya instead of Amelia), or get mad at people for pronouncing it wrong when you have spelled it in such a way that it looks NOTHING like it is pronounced!

cases i saw today: Kristie pronounced like Keer-stie... Laylah pronounced as Lie-lah... Briandan pronounced as Bran-don.

btw BRIANDAN? the kid is like 15-16 yrs old.

Poor Brian-Dan..that must be hard. =P

People are tards. There's just no other explanation sometimes.

I think that Kristie is a normal name. It would never occur to me to pronounce it "Keer-stee"..

That's like naming your child Kelly and saying "oh it's spelled J-E-N-N-Y".

If I saw the name 'Kristie' somewhere, and she would say to me 'It's "Keer-stee" I would automatically assume it was a typo and it was supposed to be Kirsty. You just can't get Keerstee out of Kristie!

I would pronounce Briandan like Brian-dan =P That's so bad!

Laylah pn. Lie-lah isn't too far of a stretch though. That's how we pronounce it here, too.

I would pronounce it Lay-luh, like Leila or Layla. Since it basically is Layla with an h, haha.

People are so stupid. Argh!
