It caught my eye in Atonement. I just dont know how it is pronounced. BREE-oh-nee? Bree-OH-nee? BREYE-oh-nee? How??

It is pronounced BRI (rhymes with eye) KNEE, although this could be an accent thing (I am Australian). In Atonement, they pronounce it with a soft 'O' in the middle - BRI-OH-KNEE.

I would not be surprised to see it pop up a bit more due to Atonement.

I prefer Briony. It's not really my thing personally. I find the "br" sound unpleasant and don't care for any names that start with it.

I don't like it at all. It looks like some guy named Bryon wanted to name his child after him and added a y to make it look...different? Feminine? (if it's for a girl) It looks kind of ridiculous and made up.

I think it's beautiful. The only problem I can see is that at quick glance, I always think it looks like Byron with a typo somewhere.
