I like it with a 'z' I don't get it. The 's' although obviously not kr8tyve seems like the 'cool' spelling for Elizabeth. I've never met someone with it spelled with an 's' although I'm sure there are some now that it's 'cool'. I see the appeal of the 's' but I just feel like it's the same name, trying to be cooler.
I prefer s just because I hate the way z looks in cursive. But if you're thinking of using it, I say z, so that when my daughter Elisabeth is born the name will be less popular. ;)
They're both acceptable spellings (like the difference between Nicholas and Nicolas), but I prefer Elisabeth. I think it's softer. Plus, I don't particularly like the nickname of 'Liz'. I do, however, like Eliza, so if I ever used it, I'd probably end up spelling it with a z.
Either is correct. My name is Elizabeth, and I like the Z because it's a letter not used as often. The S in several words is pronounced as a Z, though, so there's nothing wrong with Elisabeth, either.
I like it both ways. I was going to use Elisabeth as a middle name for my daughter, but my husband didn't like it, so we decided on Isabella instead. My best friend's daughter's name is Elizabeth.
WOW!!! I thought I was the only one. Elisabeth is my middle name, and I feel so special that it's spelled with an "s" instead of a "z". Elizabeth is so common. I like being unique!

Date: 2008-01-15 07:56 am (UTC)It's more common, so more people will spell her name right. It's less annoying when people aren't always misspelling your name. :-)
Also, less possible confusion about pronunciation. You won't get any "Eliss-abeths"
