Six

There's a new girl in my school, and her name is Six.
WDYT???

...that her mom was a Blossom fan?

[identity profile] krysteener.livejournal.com 2008-01-14 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
lol Like on Blossom?

[identity profile] lilacmermaid.livejournal.com 2008-01-14 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Or else she has five older siblings and extremely unimaginative parents.

I can't think of any number I'd like to see doubled as a name.

BLOSSOM! haha

Someone was a Blossom fan!

I used to want to name my son Seven. Then I realized what a dumb name numbers are.

[identity profile] djador.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds like a name a 14 year old girl would make up for themselves and then go through a faze of trying to get everyone to call them by it.

[identity profile] djador.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
*And then they eventually give up and go back to being called Lindsey/Ashely/Kaitlyn/what have you

her mom definately watched "blossom" as a teenager then....if six is fourteen.

*headdesk* WHY? I've heard my share of words turned names (Prizm, being one) but SIX??? 'Hi I'm six." "six years old?" "No that's just my name."

[identity profile] alexandria-skye.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
there was a girl in my middle school who was a little... mentally challenged, i think the proper pc term for it would be. she gave *everyone* numbers, and was obsessed with the number six. that was her number.

that's what it reminds me of. i'm not a fan.

[identity profile] xravenessx.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
what exactly does it mean that she GAVE everyone numbers? like, she called everyone by a different number?

[identity profile] alexandria-skye.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
yeah... instead of calling them by name, she assigned people different numbers. it was kind of weird...

[identity profile] xravenessx.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
in junior high i had a couple friends who started calling me six because i used to talk just as fast as that girl on blossom. i threatened their lives if they didnt stop ^_^

what a horrible name to actually give a person.

[identity profile] shortbutfast.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
seven would have been so much cooler.

[identity profile] raptorgirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Does she wear funny hats?

No idea what this 'Blossom' show is, never heard of it (I'm in New Zealand, we don't get old shows from other countries very often) so I can't compare it to that, however, I still think its a pretty horrid name, as different English speaking countries/regions would pronounce it differently depending on their accents.

For example, when a New Zealand says 'six' it sounds like 'six' but when an Australian says 'six' it sounds like 'sEx' to New Zealand ears because of the Aussie accent (and vice versa to Aussies ears!). Im sure this would be similar situation for different regional accents in the country the kid lives in, sigh. Poor girl.

[identity profile] minga13.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
oops, meant to be when a New ZealandER says 'six'...

"I have a kid, six, and he has a friend, also six...don't you just hate it when you think up an unusaul name and you're neighbour nicks it? Anyway..."
- Some comedian, I forget who. But it really made me luagh at the time...

Six could be a good name for a pet but for a child? no.
Eight is my brother's middle name.

I agree that the mom was probably a Blossom fan. The sad thing is, did you ever hear the character's explanation for it? That's how many beers her dad had to buy her mom....

ha that's exactly what i was thinking. i mean, ok there is the connection with Blossom but the meaning on the show isn't even something sweet or fun
