Hello everyone.

Well this is my first post! I'm Nikki. I am 15 weeks pregnant and we are trying to find some names that we like. Since we dont know what we are having yet...and I am banking on this being a girl...these are the names we have *thought* about so far for a girl:

Ella
Mia
Ava
Willow
Scarlet
Sophie
Finley
Avery
Micah
Olivia
Zoe

Not that it matters but we are going to be having a mixed child (I am mixed and he is white) and we want a name that is really WOW......and not very common.

Willow (don't like it. It makes me think the parents are lame Buffy fans)

Mia is my favorits, hands down.
it means mine.
its the name i picked out for my best friends daughter and then she gave her my middle name so we (she had been outta state @ college and dad had no plans to move at the time) named her Mia Rae.

I also like Scarlet depending on the middle name.

Your taste in names is really similar, as in.. all the names you like are a certain type.
I really like them all! Especially Ava, Ella & Scarlett.
You said you want names that arent very common... the names you like are quite popular nowadays.
Here's some names quite like the ones you like.. slightly different.

Ella- Elodie/Eleni
Mia- I prefer the spelling Maya. Mia reminds me of bulimia.
Ava- Palindrome names are so cute. What about Elle, Hannah, Ana.
Sophie- Sofia.
Olivia- I have always loved Lavinia, with Livvy for short, Olivia is just as cute though.

It stinks cause I am 25 now and these are names that I have loved forever and it just stinks that they are considered trendy now. But then again I was born in the 80 and I think every other person I run into is either a Nicole Marie or a Nicole Maureen....and yes it does get very annoying after a while.

Thanks for the comments on the boys name's (Finley, Avery and Micah). Boy's names are just killing us right now. Every name we have for a boy end's in ian or ean or something n. Ethan, Keenan, Derdan...etc.

Sorry sorry lol. I love boy names for girls. That's just it. I work with like 13 other mommies-to-be (should have been my first clue about working here..its obviously in the water)And they are all stealing my names!!!!! I know I have till June to find a name (or if we decide to find out what were having) but its so hard. and the thing is..is that i can have all these names picked out...take one look at my baby and think of your definitely not a Zoe....your a Scarlet (or whatever).

I think it's because I have two boys already and I notice that as I go, my boys list gets shorter and shorter because they get robbed by girls LOL.

Oh my god......wouldn't Sophie Olivia be a beautiful name?? Good one. BUT I am going to be using the middle name Janice (family tradition after the grandmother). So i am also stuck finding a name that goes with Janise...which has ben murder so far. But great combinations....i LOVE them.

YAH!!!!! lol your the first one that has said that! I'm in LOVE with that name. I dont know where I have heard it...but it sticks with me. It is a boys name...but we love the whole boys names for girls. We have also thought about Alexandria and shortening it to Alex.....or also Danielle and calling her (if it is a girl) Danny for short. I am kind of iffy on that name because there is a strip club near here called Danny's.
I also like Austin....but i think i would save that for a boy.
