Actually her real name is Teketria Buggs, Tiki is just her nickname.

Well given that she's African-American, her name isn't really all that unusual. (http://www.babynames.org.uk/african-american-baby-names.htm) Surely it's a cultural thing.

It is pretty sad about the girl though, the local media have been all over this all week

it sounds like an awful story...i hadnt heard about it until just now- msnbc just touched on it though- ill see what else i can find out though. i hope it turns out ok.
