A friend of mine just tried to suggest the name Gwendolyn to me, and misspelled it. But I like it!

I understand it in theory, but if you have to TELL us it's pronounced like Gwendolyn, just spell it that way to begin with. The poor kid will spend the rest of her life saying "no, it's linn, not line. Yes, I know it's spelled that way, sorry." :-)

I'd probably spell in the normal way, but -lyn names look incomplete to me, so I'd add an extra N.

I think it looks like someone misspelled Gwendolyn, sorry. The only other way I'd spell it would be Gwendoline.

It's not mispelled :)
in italian we only have Guendalina, Gwendolyn is closer to the medieval spelling, Gwendaline is more modern.
