Today I was talking to a boy I kind of know and he told me the names of all his brothers. They are (in birth order):

Edward (Eddie) - 19
Phillip - 18
Edwin - 16 (the one I was talking to)
River - 15
Drake - 12
Keenan - 9ish?

Why they would have a Edward and an Edwin I do not know. Also, the names don't really mesh well do they?

And one more thing. The name Malin. Boys name or girls name? And what do you think of it.

Not digging the sibs, personally.

Malin=girl's name. It's okay, but when I think of it...I think strong southern woman. So, I couldn't picture it on like...a five year old from New England or anything like that.

I heard Malin the first time last week in a movie called Solstice. It's a girl name imo.

I like Phil(l)ip and Drake. Keenan makes me think of Kenan Thompson, and I don't like Edward or Edwin. I've been watching a lot of Firefly recently, so I think of River as a girl's name.

So they started off traditional and then went weird :P I don't understand the Edward/Edwin thing either - especially because Edward is Eddie. I'd understand it a little more if he was Ted or Ned because that would diferentiate the two a bit more.

River and Drake. Ew.

I think of Malin as a girl's name, definitely.

Malin is a girl's name. One that has been on my list for a while ;)

is it possible that the Edward is from a previous relationship from the mother or father? i've seen that before... quite a few times actually. the most recent case was the man had a son like ten years before his other kids, named John Jr. & then the kids he had with his new wife, one was named Jonathan.

not that i think it makes it right lol, but i've seen that happen before.

In Norway, Malin is a girls name.

I'm not fond of Edwin. But I like the other names just fine, they mesh well enough, I think.

I agree that they don't really mesh. Edward, Phillip, and Edwin seem classic, and River, Drake, and Keenan seem to come from a different generation of names to me.

Malin...I've never thought of it, but I think I see it for a girl more than a boy, perhaps becuase of the "lin" sound, which is very feminine to me.

I think Edward/Edwin (not both in the same sibset though!) and Philip go together well; and I think River and Drake (a male duck, after all :D) go all right with each other; and I'm not too sure about Keenan going well with any of them - but all together? No.
