Arabic: I love the Turkish names Paniz & Yildiz ('iz' sounds like 'ees'). Paniz means 'sugar' and Yildiz means 'star', they are both girl's names.
I have no idea about the South-Asian ones, though.

My favourite asian name for a girl is Priya, and my fave arabic name is Aaliyah (i love it!!).
I don't really like any of the boy names too much.
